26th Annual Symposium of the European Society of Urogenital Radiology
Advantage were delighted to partner with the European Society of Urogenital Radiology to deliver their 26th Annual Symposium in Dublin.
Advantage were appointed as designated conference organiser for the 26th Annual Symposium of the European Society of Urogenital Radiology in late 2017 after a competitive tender process. The event took place from the 19th-22nd September 2019.
The 26th Annual Symposium hosted leading experts in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in Genitourinary Radiology. The central theme of the conference was ‘Emergencies and Complications in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology’.
Advantage worked closely with the local conference ambassador, Dr. Tony Geoghegan, consultant Radiologist at the Mater Hospital Dublin, as well as the wider organising committee and ESUR secretariat in Vienna to provide a full event management service.
We worked with the conference ambassador to design an event identity and designated event website. We contracted and managed the venue, Dublin Castle, negotiated accommodation blocks in three Dublin City Centre hotels and coordinated the full social programme which included a member’s dinner in City Hall and the gala dinner in the Round Room of the Mansion House. The accessibility of the venue, accommodation and social programme was highly regarded, as delegates were within walking distance of all key conference locations.
The conference was strategically timed to coincide with Culture Night 2019, where cultural attractions open their doors to the public for free for one night only. With a full programme of culture night events happening in Dublin on the same eve of the welcome reception, this complemented the social programme and showcased the best of Dublin in the September sunshine.
We also managed over 200 abstract submissions via our abstract submission software, including both oral presentations and poster submissions.
A custom registration page was built to capture attendee details, and social programme tickets, reporting regularly the event statistics and registration data to the local organising committee.
We successfully achieved industry sponsorship of over €25,000 which was secured over the two-year period prior to the event.
The ambassadors aim was to increase attendee numbers from the previous event in 2018, hence we operated a tailored e-marketing campaign and designated social media channels for the conference. The end result was over 350 attendees, with 80% of these being international.
